My Love Story: A Nigerian in Vienna

My Love Story: A Nigerian in Vienna

I have been living in Vienna for more than 3 years and I fell in love with this city. Vienna is a dream city for anyone with a romantic streak and an interest in history. Vienna stands out among other European tourist destinations for being a “new old city”. It’s a city with a diverse culture which accommodates everybody irrespective of your color, religion or race.

As a tourist, there are a lot of great places to visit. Parks, stunning architecture, beautiful river cost, and cozy cafes. One of my favorite places is the Schönbrunn Palace, the former imperial summer residence. When I first came to Vienna back in May 2013, the Schonbrunn Palace was the very first sight I visited with a group of friends. The beauty of the palace has always stayed in my memory especially the big garden. The huge Baroque rooms make it one of the most important architectural, cultural and historical monuments in the country. One can see the changing tastes, interests, and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs over 300 years.

Around this palace, there are a lot of stories and interesting facts. Do you know the oldest zoo in the world was founded in the Schönbrunn Palace?

My perception of Vienna as a city has grown over the years and I personally want to spend the rest of my life in this beautiful city. If you are ever in Vienna, you are welcome to join me and we can enjoy the fantastic beauty of Vienna together. I promise will change your perspective of Vienna and will make you come back again and again.
